A sad fact of life
Last week I was victim of racism. I was called, in a wrongly addressed e-mail, of “caradura negra” which in Spanish means a cheeky black.
No human being on this planet is entirely free of some degree of discrimination, that can be for innumerous reasons varying fm the type of car you own, the shoes you are using or the style of yr hair cut but it’s amazing how low and stupid people can be by showing off their racism.
Well, I have a few facts for these intellectual dwarfs. The pigmentation of the skin has absolutely nothing to do with intelligence, ability, ethics or integrity. Better, has nothing to do with anything. The color of my skin dos not disqualifies me of nothing.
The main contribution I can give here is that the racism I experienced was courageously spoke out by me where I did not accept apologizes and reconfirmed that those words were “pure racist” and could not be justified by a slang language. The fellow was immediately fired from that company. If he was in my country he would be taken to jail immediately since this behavior is considered a crime here.
This experience is not uncommon and mostly goes unreported. This explicit racist treatment goes on daily around the world.
There are many more stories of racism people have that go untold because these stories are regarded as being part of the “victim mentality
It’s disgraceful, disgusting, disappointing and just sad.
I will overcome it!
Kisses
