Mercado de Flores – Ceasa
This is a huge flower market. Takes place each tuesday and friday.
As today I’m not working I thought wd be an opportunity to visit there but I think all the city of São Paulo came up with the same idea.
It was good anyway.

Renovation – A bedroom for Veja São Paulo
On the 1st talking I had with the designers they asked me what was important to have in the room and I immediately said: light for reading and a big mirror. These were the only things I mentioned.
What I understood during this process is that the decoration should have a theme, a concept and/or all together, a focal point.
In this case Fernanda Marques, the designer, choose the retro wallpaper to be the focal point as well the two big mirrors, then developed the theme in a pallet of brown, black, silver and white colors. She matched sheets, pillowcases, and accent pillows that pull the room together. A soft rug with a cream color was chosen for the space.
Then she picked up a couple colors from the bedspread and start adding accent pieces. These were sort of decorative items such as, lampshades, glass vases with natural flowers, B&W pictures framed in black; annotate books like my Japanese Ceramic book and a Moleskin.
A nice wood chair fm designer Fernando Jaeger was placed in the working area which created an excitement to the room.
I could not be happier with this place which now I call my boudoir.

Weekends
I keep on planning things to do for the weekend but for one reason or another I never do what I plan.
Since I work all week, saturday for example, I have to go to the Ceasa
to buy food for the week. Different fm other locations, here we cook everyday, 2 meals: lunch/dinner and my twins are 2 gourmands, no free days, no excuses.
It was a sunny Saturday, good to go to the swimming pool, ride a bike, go out for a walk, but since I got all my ceramic bisque fired (about 6 months production) I started glazing them for the 2nd fire next week. I force myself to plan things, to go out, to meet people, but in the end I feel I like to be home with my plants, my golden retriever, my husband, (my teens twins are not in all the time anymore). Anything wrong with that? I do not think so. I’m just like other things. But since I’m talking there might be something behind it otherwise I would not comment. So many years under therapy tought me something.
Have a nice weekend.

Why to Blog?
This question is on my mind for many months. It was not a plan but something I felt I wd like to try. Then, when something happens we take decisions. This is what happened to me. On a business trip I had last week to another country, I met a lot of new people, my pals. But I had the feeling that I did not want to connect with those people. I was fine with myself. I did not want to talk to nobody. I thought that was ok but it was not.
We live with people, we need people, we need friends, we need to talk, we need to exchange. This is the primarily reason for blogging.
The second reason is the passion I have for ceramics, decoration and design and as such I want to share my work with you. I do not want anymore to keep it only to myself.
Then, why to blog in English since its not yr mother language? First of all, to challenge myself. I studied English for so many years, read so many books; I cannot be as bad as I think! Second reason is that in Brazil, Portuguese language, we do find so many communities as found in English.
It’s a pleasure meeting you all.

apartment pics
I do not believe. This will be renovated!
Can you believe I was chosen by a local magazine to have my room renovated by one of the top 5 star architects of São Paulo?
Let me start fm the beginning. I signed up for a contest by sending this photo of my room. Since the very 1st beginning I told my kids that this one I would won. I do not know why but I was so confident. There are so many difficult things happening to me lately that I thought: “since I like so much decoration, I deserve this prize!”
This Monday I got a call fm the magazine saying I was one of the selected readers. Of course I did not believe and called back, but It was/is true. Tomorrow they go to my place to take the “before” pics, one of myself to be shown in this weekend magazine.
Bottom line : now I believe.
